You should enquire with the following departments at your earliest convenience to ensure you are covered for assistance. Veteran Affairs The Veterans Information Service can provide you with information regarding veteran affairs funeral issues including bereavement payments, benefits and war graves. Bereavement Allowance A bereavement allowance, amongst other things, can provide you with an adequate level of income while you make arrangements and find out whether you are eligible for a longer term payment. To enquire about bereavement allowances call 13 2300 or visit a Centerlink Customer Service Centre. Transport Accident Commission - TAC If a fatality has occured as a result of a transport accident, funeral costs will be paid for by the TAC. Glen Funerals will assist you in making a claim for all funeral costs. |
